- Wilkinson, Chris
- ArchitectWilkinson has worked for Norman Foster (see Foster Associates) and Richard Rogers, whose architectural styles he greatly admires and to a degree emulates, and has practised in London since 1983 with his partner James Eyre. Wilkinson’s Jubilee Line Maintenance Depot work (plus Stratford Market Station on the same line) brought him attention in 1995, and he has had rapid success since (while Wilkinson Architects designed the concourse for the new Stratford Station on the Jubilee line, Troughton McAslan is the chief architect on the line’s platforms and station accommodation). Other major new and recent work has been Liverpool Street Station arcade, an £8 million Science World Building Millennium project for Bristol, and a £120 million sports and university complex on Teesside. Wilkinson’s firm have gained much attention in the last few years and have become sought-after architects for their English high-tech image.PETER CHILDS
